Join the HMS PTO Board along with HMS Staff for a Social Media Safety presentation on Tuesday 10/1/24 at 6:00PM in the HMS Learning Center.
The purpose of this presentation is to provide parents with the knowledge and understanding of how internet crime is investigated. There will be information regarding relevant social media and internet trends, sextortion and other risks to juveniles online, and providing advice and tools for parents to combat these issues, monitor their children, open lines of dialogue between parent and child, and keep their students safe.The following topics will be covered:
– Social Media Use by Teens
– Cyberbullying/Harassment
– Sexting/Predation
– Establishing Boundaries for Internet Use
– Parent/Student Communication
– What to do if a victim of online abuse
We will stream the presentation live on Facebook for anyone wishing to join in there.
